Yes. You can take a photo or record a video in the app, or choose existing ones from your phone's gallery. Videos are analysed frame by frame.

Accuracy depends on light, focus and distance. Daylight, a steady hand and a frame filled with bees give the best results. Treat detections as a guide and confirm them yourself before treating a hive.

Photograph bees up close so individual mites are visible, ideally on drone brood frames or a sticky board. Avoid shadows and motion blur.
